History
- Primary school in 1961. High school in Sam Thong in 1964-1967. Secondary school in Dong Doke, Vientiane in 1967-1972.
- Columbo Plan Student from Laos to Australia in 1973. Qualified with BS (specializing in histology and clinical chemistry) from the Tasmanian College of Advanced Education. Worked as a laboratory technician for the Commonwealth Laboratory and then as a laboratory scientist for the Royal Hobart Hospital until I took a redundancy in 1996.
Professional Experiences
- Extensive experience with human blood analysis, blood typing, blood transfusion and preparation of slides from human/animal cancer tissues for microscopic studies.
- My wife and I sponsored 82 Hmong refugee families from Thailand to live in our state, Tasmania, and we had some experience in resettling new arrivals.
- Some experience in dealing with Australian politics.
- One term chairman for Tasmanian Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs to advise the Minister for Multicultural Affairs on multicultural affairs issues.
